Is my clam gaping?
Is my clam gaping? The intake side (on the left) seems a bit wide.
It's seems happy though. The mantle fully extends and it retracts when sensing light changes. |

looks fine to me, look through the intake hole, if you can see the sand or the rock underneath then its gaping.

Thanks for the replies. I can't seem to find a spot it prefers. I have a 75 gallon tank with a T5 6 bulb fixture pushing 324 watts. I had it half way up my rocks but can't get it to attach. It's been in my tank for a week now. I moved it to the sandbed but kept it on rocks. The LFS had it under a single 250 MH.
Thought I'd see if it would attach to the rock in a slightly lower light section....being the bottom of my tank. |
