Problem with skimmer

I have a E.T.S.S Reef Devil Deluxe skimmer. I am using this as a external skimmer cuz it will not fit in my sump. It recomeneds a mag 7 pump and thats what I went and got. Now my issue is, everytime I plug in the pump the water fills the Foam condenser tube. There should only be Foam here not water and I mean the water fills fast to were i have to unplug the pump or it will overflow!!! What is the problem? I have a attached some amazing artwork to show how I have it set up! The ball valve is fully open too. Ive tried fully closed, fully open, half closed everything. HELP plz. I need a Skimmer

I believe your outflow tubing is too high... make it under the water level of the skimmer... anyone else?

From your diagram it looks like your outlet tube is higher than the level of your collection cup, this combined with the smaller diameter of the outlet is causing back pressure. Get the outlet pipe below that level & you'll be skimming in no time.

3+ the outlet is to high. If you run it straight across to the sump instead of up and over your collection cup will not fill. You may have to raise the skimmer up to get the outlet higher than the water level in the sump. if it is placed under the water level it will create back pressure too. You may want to consider a air vent also to help stabilize it.

Thank u guys. I figured that might be it but not 100% I will make a nice custome stand with glass case to hold the skimmer. Somewhat of a show piece, cuz I think its a really nice skimmer for a 100 gal reef tank.
