Need help with tank location
I am considering putting my new 40 gallon tank next to my fireplace. The concerns that come to mind are temperature changes and the possible smoke from the fire entering the room. We only light the fireplace a handful of times a year usually for the holidays so it would not be frequently. I am more concerned about the smoke factor than the temperature issue but does anyone have any advice or first hand experience with this? Unfortunately it is the only area in the house that makes sense so I'm hoping I can do it.
Thanks in advance for any information you can offer. |

If you were going to have a canopy, I for sure wouldn't see a big deal.
Heat is not good for corals though - that would be my biggest concern, depending on how 'close' it really is to your fireplace. |
