Heater in overflow box
Does anyone keep their tank heaters in their overflow boxes? I use multiple heaters, in case one should fail, so this would really free up space and wires in my sump and make cleaning out the sump a bit easier. As long as the overflow boxes use durso standpipes and keep a constant water level, I can't think of any reason not to do this? Any opinions?

I have dual overflows, and I have a heater in each. I have a fairly strong flow sump. I've had no issues. I haven't heard of anyone else with this setup having issues. I just always make sure I shut off the heater when I'm doing a water change for if the water level drops where the heater is located. I'm going on 3+ years like this with no problems. They were just way too damn big to place anywhere in my sump.
