CCFL for refugium?
I was wondering (did a search as well) if anyone has used cold cathode florescent lighting to light up a refugium at all? I got some for one of my side projects (lighted shadow boxes with x-rays of random stuff) and after getting a 8 light ballast I thought about it, so far it's very bright and put out little to no heat. After looking here http://www.ccfldirect.com/2x13fuspccla1.html I found a little info about the bulbs, they are cheap and would seem to do the trick. does anyone have any ideas/thoughts on this?
Basically I want to do a refugium/sump under my main tank (80G) and grow mangroves and some algae at first I was thinking 150w MH but heat is usually a issue with those. |

neat you just used 2 of the black lights then? http://www.frozencpu.com/cat/l2/g6/c...cessories.html was another good/cheap place for lights.
Again my main question is if it's the right light for the job? the only info listed is "full spectrum" but would that do the trick? |
