what's this come out of the rock from nowhere?
it's been there 3 days,purple,soft,and i will say growing fast.
what is that? looks not bad though. |

Interesting. Almost looks looks like frogspawn tips. Hopefully others can give you a definitive ID.

Codium sp. Consider Żourself lucky. Its a macro algae that grows to look sort of like a coral. Enjoy it!

Very interesting. Looks like it's inflating like a leather, but I haven't seen a leather that color. I think you're right though, looks more beneficial than harmful.

this macro algae is abundant here locally and tends to was up on the beaches all the time. I've collected it in the past and tried to keep it. I couldnt get it to stay attached to anything. here it comes in green, purple, a beautiful pink, green and brown. from past experience I believe it to be a relatively slow grower. Your very lucky!

Its a macro algae. I have tons of it. Don't know how I got it, but it comes and goes.

Oh my gosh! If it's the one I think it is, I'm so jealous - my all time favorite macro. Some fish will eat it, you might want to consider moving it to the refugium if that's an option.
