GPH rate?

how much gph should i have for a 35 gallon reef tank?

What are you planning on keeping; SPS, LPS, mixed, zoas...?

im think of going with some soft and LPS corals

Then you can get away with lower flow. I have about 800-ish gph in my 30 cube.

not to jack the thread but what about a mixed reef 55Gallon w/ about a 30Gal sump?

75G AGA 2x250W 14K MH, Reef Octopus Skimmer, 20G DIY sump, 4" sand Bed, 150lbs LR, 1 foxface rabbit fish, 1 Green Acro?!

It really depends on whether you mean flow through the sump or flow in the display tank. IME you should shoot for 3-5x turnover through the sump and 15-20x in the display tank.
