Watergeneral RD-100 RO/DI, need a little help w/ filters
I was given one of these today. Quite a large unit. It has 3 canisters on the bottom and two sef-contained cylinders on the top. What kind of filters do I need? I never used one of these before.

You will need one of these to start off with.
http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/...ilter-kit.html and http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/...-canister.html The two on the top are DI containers and AFAK they are not refillable. They are also not vertical and will let water pass by untreated. The kit from BRS will replace them and is refillable. After you sterilize the unit with some bleach water and completly rinse and dry it. Make sure to keep the membrane (horizontal white container) moist. I toss it in a freezer bag. Reinstall the membrane, these filters without the DI hooked up. Test the TDS. Test your tap water TDS. Check to see your ratio and see if the membrane is any good. If it is your good to go, if not you should replace it with a new filmtec 75gpd membrane. Did it come with a filter wrench or tds meters? you will want those if it didn't.

Take a picture of it.
You might just hook it up and see what you get. TDS meters are cheap.

I used to run one of there units and used to use spectrapure filters in it. Also, got a TDS meter and hooked it up to the unit and it ran great. I just recently retired it for the BRS 300 G per day unit which is freaking awesome!!!
