Finnex Deluxe Electronic Temperature Controller

So with all of the heater problems I and several other local reefers have experienced with there heaters I have been thinking of adding a controller for extra protection. I found this one that is in my budget but don't have any experience with this brand. Has anyone tried a Finnex Deluxe Electronic Temperature Controller and if so what was your experience with it?

Here is a place I found it for sale.

I have used one, and the temp setting was off, and it failed on me after 2 yrs

try to get a ranco controller in the drygoods used section, well worth the money

Thanks guys....I was wondering the same thing. Cheap usually means junk in this hobby but I wanted to be sure as the price was something I could afford now. Will have to put some money aside for awhile and save for a better controller. How about the Digital Aquatics Reef Keeper lite?

finnex, aqua medic and tru temp controllers all suck! EVERYONE OF THEM FAILED ON ME. THE TRU TEMP DIDNT EVEN LAST A YEAR! JBJ sucks will NEVER BUY ANOTHER PRODUCT THAT MANUFACTURER AGAIN. Called them no respose. Emailed them they said its over 6 mos old and I should wash the probe...lol...Ya know who helped me...F&S! They gave me store credit. Think about this. A heater controller is the single easiest thing to make. A heater is a toaster. TWO peices of metal shorting out with a thermostat! jeeez

Thanks for the feedback and I feel your pain..That's why I am trying to buy something that will work vs. junk but at the same time not break the bank. I was looking into the reefkeeper lite level 2 maybe as I would like to be able to control my lighting, heater, temp readout, Ph, and pumps for wavemaking. Does anyone know if this would work for what I need.
