How do Open Brains Poo?
I was just watching my tank and I noticed my open brain swell up and expelled red stringy stuff from it's mouths. Is that how they poo?

One way in, one way out. Its either expelling waste or its zooxanthellae. How long have you had it? What are your water params?

Hmmm, my red open brain coral excretes brown stringy material from its mouth. I've never seen mine excrete anything red before, though.

Most likely it's excrement. Mine excretes even when I do not target feed, so there must be lots of pods it captures throughout the day. If you're able to next time, try to take pix.
