Metal Halide Bulbs for 40 Breeder

Using a Coralife Advance 36" Fixture

2 x 150 metal halides

has 20000k coralife bulbs

this tank will be used as frag , growout tank

looking to buy new bulbs and need some help with choices

What are the better choices out there on bulbs

150 DE , looking for more growth than color

should i go with 10k or 14 k, brand etc...

dont have much experience with either as ive always used 20k

any help is appreciated

14K Phoenix are pretty decent... Ushio makes a pretty good 150w Bulb too... Radium's are supposed to be decent, but I haven't tried them yet... Good luck in your search...

Thanks , any others with ushio, phoenix, radium bulbs in their setups, looking to order in the next few days

Ushio 20K bulbs are NICE. Might not have the PAR your after though. Ushio 10K is BRIGHT. I haven't checked it's par yet but it's a good deal more powerful than the 20K ushio. I'm running a Giesemann DE 150W Marine 12.5K now over my frag tank and par is 220 14" down.

Phoenix 14K bulbs always get great reviews and are cheaper than most.
