catching fish

I need to catch my cherry grouper however he hides in the rocks the tank is 300gallons so i really dont want to remove all the rock to get him. Does anyone know of an easy way to catch this fish

You could always place a piece of food on the substrate, put a box of some sort over it propped up with a dowel rod and attach a string to the dowel. When he swims in to eat it, pull the string and spring the trap! I've had to do this more than once to catch a difficult fish.

use a barbless hook and go fishing. I've found this to be the easiest method for large fish.

i thought about the hook method but hes only about 3inches. i guess i need to use some sort of trap then

They sell fish traps also go to YouTube.com they have diy fish traps.Hopes this helps.patients is the key!!!trust me you don't want to take rock out. You will never get the rock work the same.

Well if the hook method is the easiest then just get a little perch hook and cut off the barb. I've caught a 3 inch perch with one of those before lol
