WHat this green on my LR?

This green stuff was on top of some dead LR I have been cycling for almost 1 month now. The dead LR is getting coraline on it and looks good. Only thing is this one piece that has...green algae?

There are many forms of harmless green calcerous algaes so it shouldn't be a concern. Looks like calcerous neon (neomeris annulata)algae. It may stay for a while but will usually be over run by red and pink.

No worries!

looks like slime algae to me. I doubt it's calcerous. The red looks like it could be cyanobacteria too. If it didn't come on the rock like that, it's unlikely that within a month in a new tank that much coralline would grow that quickly.

Is this normal for a cycle with dead LR?

I always found when using base rock, the algae showed up on the base rock before the live rock I'm using to seed the base rock.
