Help me stock my 90 gallon reef
Hello,
Sadly, after 20ish years i am having to restock my reef with fish because of a nasty crypt. outbreak. Here is a video of my tank as is right now! https://bypas.in/.i/_3DsWMYZnN25WR5J...L3d3dv8iO42984 As you can see no fish just a lot of corals that have been happy for a long time. Only good news is now I get to do it the right way (with a QT) and pick the exact fish I want -NO IMPULSE BUYS!! I have always failed at this in the past but am really going to try hard this time. I know I want these species: percula clown pair- maybe a hybrid Flame angel radiant wrasse. Other than that what do you guys think I should add for color and character? Thanks for the suggestions!! couldn't get the video to work, however, this is really individual tastes.... I would go to the fish forum to get some good ideas. If you have a live food supply ie. refugium a great addition would be a mandarin.... tangs are are active and add alot of activity. Many to choose from... good luck!

It looks so eerie without any fish!
I've always loved Goby/Pistol pairings. So fascinating to watch! I recommend a Yasha Haze Goby and Randalls Shrimp, they look fab together. Although in a 90 you might want to go for a bigger pair (eg Yellow Watchman Goby.) |

Wow, that is all amazingly beautiful. It looks almost like those forests or remote natural locations that are just left for their own devices and completely undisturbed. Very cool! Good luck with your stocking. I have a 90g and I too am looking at a YWG and pistol shrimp. One other cool fish that I do not see mentioned too much is the Scopas Tang. Looks perfect for a 90g tank, to me.

YOur tank is beautiful. I really like your mushrooms. How do you get your blue mushrooms to look so vividly blue? Mine always look purple.

Really is a pretty tank. Neat. I'd say leopard wrasse if your sand is pretty fine and you can acquire a healthy one. I can't quite tell about the sand. Goby/pistol seems cool. I would add some kind of blenny. I love my tailspot. You could do a pair of Bangaii cardindals or some pajamas. Scooter dragonets are always out and about and not too tough if you feed them properly. I've always thought a dwarf angel would be cool, but I don't think it would fit temperament-wise with my crew.
If I stocked a 90 in a way totally different from my current tank, I might do a marginalis butterfly, a pair of dwarf angels, a pair of mandarins and a trio of flasher wrasses. I'd double check the angels with the wrasses but I think they'd be okay. Cheers.

Bangaii cardinals and clowns are always good. Then its a mix of gobies and blennies. I don't like wrasses because they tend to clean out the pods and I really like my mandarin. Yellow watchmen gobies are cool. I didn't get a pistol shrimp and my YWG is out all the time. I hear people that pair them with the shrimp don't see them out that much.
I'm still looking for a good reef safe fish that is more big bodied. The blue jaw trigger has me intrigued but I'm not sure I trust a trigger with my shrimp.
