Wall kit for hanging lights

I am wondering what people are using to hang lights from the wall?

The ceiling where my tank resides is angled and starting at 12 feet high. I cannot hang it from the ceiling. Therefore, I need to find or make a mount to attach to the wall that comes out to hang them from. I am wondering what others have used when having to go this route.

Take a look in the closet / storage section of your Home Depot or Lowes. They make rails that you attach to the walls to hang shelves from that should work for you.

I was in the same situation, but chose to build a light rack that rests on the tank instead.

Very nice setups. I am not too good at carpentry and I need to create something that will not be too difficult and can support the weight of an ATI Sunpower T5 system.

I am looking at the shelving option. However, I need to get the arms out ~14" to get it at the center of the tank from the wall. Then, I need to have enough to support it there. I may consider dropping the cabling from the ceiling if I can I can make it look nice.

I dont have it setup anymore, but I used a double track bracket with double track channel this way you can adjust your light up and down as needed plus it comes in black and white.

They make the brackets up to 18" in lenght very strong

I just used a couple shelf brackets like this. They make them in all sorts of designs if you do want to get fancy. I imagine you could find a set that would come out 14", I don't remember how far mine come out but its close to a foot. Since the studs in the wall are never exactly where they need to be to put the light over the middle of the tank I got a set like this with the hook on the end. They're made to go in closets then you can put a rod on them to hang clothes from. Instead I hang my light from the rod.

Not sure if they'll work for you but check out the Current and AquaticLife wall mounting kits.

Toddrtrex: Very nice. I was looking at doing something like that too since the studs are off center from where I need them to be. I am thinking of anchoring a board to the 3 studs and offset it slightly on one end so it is uniform. Then I can anchor the shelf brackets aesthetically over the tank.
