What Lights for a 55 Gallon FOWLR?

I'm planning a 55 gallon FOWLR that will be up and running in about 3 months. I'm going to run a wet/dry filtration and protien skimmer(not sure what brand or model yet? open to suggestions). The main thing I need help with is the lighting. I want to set up a lighting system that will fade on and off like a real sunrise and sunset. I would also like it to have a moonlight glow at night. Thanks for your help!

That light will be fine and even allow you to get coral in the future if you decide to. If you are going with t-5's I like the tek fixtures for something that is reasonably priced. They dont have moonlights but you can always add those down the road. You can even get it from reefgeek and pick what bulbs you want so you can pick the right look for you.

I have that fixture and am very satisfied with it. It really brings out the colors of the fish and the built in timer is very helpful. The moonlights are great too.

I have the 36" fixture and love it. I did replace the stock bulbs which aren't very good.

Sounds like I may be sold on it.

gldnegle76: what lights did you replace the originals with?
