fuge lighting question

should i have the fuge light on at the same time my tank light is on? or turn the fuge light on when the main tank light is off?

I have a reverse cycle. When the DT lights are off the fuge light is on. It helps keep the PH more stable too!

would that have anything to do with the brown hair algae problem I have going on right now. It is driving me nutz.

Have you been running them on the same cycle? I guess it could have affected it. How fast is the flow through your fuge that will play a larger role. You want the flow slow enough to absorb the nutrients.

It may, but there are a lot of influencing factors that can contribute to air algae. 1st - do you use RO/DI water for top of and water changes?
