Trying to find appropriate moonlight
I'm not too familiar with all the moonlights out there and was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. My tank is the BioCube HQI 29 Gallon.
I have a combo coral, favia, and one of those small hard corals that look like little trees or cacti (forget the species name...they sell them with plugs so you can stick them inside rocks), and 1 clam. I wasn't sure about the quality of the different moonlights along with what is the appropriate intensity for my tank. I found the following lights so far that appear to be good: http://www.marinedepot.com/R2_Soluti...FIML-0-vi.html and http://www.marinedepot.com/Neptune_S...LTFIML-vi.html The neptune one seems to include a dimmer. Not sure if the r2 one dims (maybe it doesn't need to be dimmed?) Also, I'm looking for something that connects pretty neatly (doesn't look sloppy with bulky design or cables in the way) Any suggestions? |

1.) You intend to use a controller, which will tell the moonlights what the phase of the natural moon is, and match that. 2.) You find the original setting to strong and would like to dim it down some. Moonlighting is soley for your enjoyment. Nothing in the tank requires moonlight. So looks are also up to you. Its also surprising how little light you need, I have a 45g (36x12x24) and 4 2-bulb LED's are more than enough to light it at night. |

Here you go, from a different thread I posted in:
I run a single blue AM series from superbrightleds.com They plug directly into the 12v wall wart that I am using to power the fans on the LED heatsink. Find the product page here: Moonlight ![]() it's nested behind some javascript. You have to click on the AM-xx-x6 tab under the LED Accent Light Modules section. Then click on the see prices and buy button. Part#: AM-RB-B6 |
