I bought one from autotopoff.com based on recommendations from here. Works very well, and easy to set up. I made sure to get one with a backup sensor in case the first one failed for some reason.

I have been running a JBJ ATO system controlling a MJ400 pump for about 2 years with great success. The time out function saved me a couple of times, once when a snail decided to hang out on the float and another when I was slow to clean the float and it stuck a little. I also have a separate 16H aquarium that fits under my stand to hold the RO/DI top off water.

The Avast Marine Unit looks really good and has doesn't use floats that can stick or be triggered by snails. It's also decently priced.

I'm curious - does anyone run any type of "reverse" float sensor or the similar so that if the water level in the RO/DI reservoir drops too low, it doesn't burn out the pump?

big fan of autotopoff.com + aqualifter ...that's what I run on my nanocube (had to mod the hood to fit the hang on bracket)

Other tank runs a Reef Angel controller. For $200... might not be a bad option either. But you'd have to make you own bracket for the float switch. But if you did that for $200 you'd have a controller with 3 temp probes, 1 ph probe, and an ATO along with 8 controllable outlets.

it depends on your tank and your needs

I use the one from aquahub.com with a pump from autotopoff.com. I got the aquahub kit through BRS because I was ordering from them anyway. It is one of the best things I've done for my tank. The kit and separate power cord cost about $40. It has dual switches in case the one switch sticks the other will turn off the pump. Not fancy but very effective and cost efficient.
