Head loss and return pumps

I'm running a 125g tank with dual 1.5 overflows, a 30g sump, reef octopus skimmer and dual 1440 powerheads in the tank. My return is a corallife 1744 hy-drive. My sump is in the basement about 13 ft down and is tee'd at the pump with a couple of 90s . Does each return count as an additional 14 ft of head loss with it tee'd like that?? I'm continuously sucking water at the siphon hole in both corners and getting alot of micro bubbles.

No, the pump only sees the 14 feet total, but it would see restriction from the extra pipe lengths and their diameters. This calculator has options for multiple outlets. if you have all sorts of different widths pipe, just average it to something.

Im not following you on the sucking at the siphon holes? What type of overflows do you use? Are they gurgling like a flushing toilet?

No, the water level sits right at the drilled holes, maybe that's where it's supposed to be

Problem solved, installed a 35g trigger elite sump w/ refugium. macro bubbles gone, now to work on a durso standpipe.
