Relocating fish & live rock questions

Yep, I'm a newbie. I have a recently cycled 75g FOWLR setup, I have about 60 lbs of live rock, crushed coral substrate, a young blue/green Chromis, and a 6 inch (baby) snowflake eel, 2 emerald green crabs, 2-3 nerite snails, and about 2-3 red-legged hermit crabs. I just purchased a 37 gal tank for a QT/hospital tank. I would like to know if I can siphon my water from the 75 gal tank and dump it into the 37 gal tank, relocate the live rock and then the fish into this temporary habitat? I will relocate the Aqua Clear 110 HOB and the Emperor 400 as well. I'm going to place a (cut-to-fit) piece of egg crate on the bottom of the 37 g. No substrate will be moved. The purpose of this necessary move is logistics. I'm currently working on a 125 g tank/stand build project, and I have to move a 150g and the 75g from one wall in my computer room in order to make room. The 37 gal tank will be located in the living room. I appreciate your help and assistance. Sorry for the long story, I don't want to hurt my babies. It's taken a long time to get this far.

Most often, that kind of move works well enough. I would have water on hand for changes and some Amquel, too, in case there's some cycling effects. Moving live rock always has risks.

It should work out fine but let me make sure I understand. How long will they be in the 37g? Are you keeping all 75g of water for when you transfer them back into the 75g tank?

Sorry for the delayed response. I thought this thread was deleted. The 37g tank is just a temporary home (eg future QT), until I can get my 125g DT established, set-up, and cycled. After everything is stabilized in the 125g, I'll relocate the live rock, fish & critters into their new home (125g). My concerns are: using the existing water out of the 75g (all of it) for setting up the now bare empty 37g. Will this create a harmful situation for this move?; Or, should I use fresh batch of seawater, then relocate the live rock and fish into the 37g ?. Thanks in-advance for your help!

IME it is best to use as much of your established water as possible. So yes use your existing water to setup your temporary home

I agree. Using the water from your tank should be fine, and might help reduce the shock a bit.
