Mogul metal halide bulbs orientation
Ok I have been doing this hobby for a while and have read the many discussions about the proper orientation of a mogul halide bulb. I can only get them to end up in one spot regardless of how I attempt to install; they only seem to start at a certain point in the socket resulting in the same ending location when snug??? Tell me what I am doing wrong? Jeff

Ideally, you want the arc tube nipple between 10 and 2 (pointing upwards). Unplug your ballasts from the wall and reach into the socket and bend the metal tab outwards in there. You can then put the bulbs back in, and stop them as close as you can to the upward position right before the bulb gets snug. The tab in the socket should be making contact with the base of the bulb at this point, and you'll be just fine. HTH!
