This is my tanks center piece, he hangs out dead center of my tank and over sees the traffic in the tank. He is the only one that can go into any spot in the tank without being chased away by another tank member for evading

I would add a skimmer to the tank, having run skimmer-less 29g systems before. I'd plan on three fish the size of the false percula, or so, with a decent skimmer. I had a flame angel in a 29g, and I wouldn't try that again. They are too active and get too large, IMO.

Thanks, now I'm DEFINITELY going to avoid angelfish
I'm planning on buying a tail spot blenny within the next few days, but does anybody know what to feed them or if they eat algae and what types of algae?

The blenny is not going to be a significant algae mower. I'm not sure what the best thing to feed them is - they'll eat whatever you feed the other fish, but they probably would do well with plant foods. Maybe someone else kwill comment. They go after stuff like diatoms and other microalgae. Like Jonathan said, a skimmer will do you good. In my experience your pods and worms are the backbone of any cleanup crew if allowed to go without predation, they will do an awesome job -- along with good skimming.

Not that you need them from me, but kudos to you for seeing that the fish needed more space - so many people just think that's the way they act. And of course fully grown, a large flame makes a 30g look small.

So, I went to both of my my lfs over the weekend and at one, I saw the elusive tailspot for sale, expecting ~$25 tops....
It was $33 Also, it was much smaller than I had expected: around 1", which didn't bother me (the price bothered me).
I decided to take the $12 route and so went with a firefish goby today - he's acclimating now. He sure is pretty. How do I post pictures, it never works for me?

I just tried to feed the fish, and the clownfish took all of the food...
I read that you can place the more aggressive fish in a colander and float the colander in the water while feeding the newer, more timid fish. Is this true? If not, what else can I do to prevent my firefish from starving?

You can target feed with a turkey baster or other apparatus. A clown and a firefish shouldn't need drastic measures. The firefish may need a little time to more courage, which will be helped by target feeding. He may be afraid of the baster at first, but will learn that's where dinner comes from.

A little tip - when you know what fish you want, adding the smaller and sensitive ones first is a good way to go about it.

I'll try the turkey baster later today when I feed. And I didn't know just how sensitive firefish were, but now I know for next time. If I can't get it to eat today or tomorrow, I'll bring it back tomorrow as its stomach is hardly starting to flatten out.

My firefish loves flake food , mysis shrimp (chopped a little) and cyclopeze. he also likes pellets but if they sink to fast he will not pick them up off the sand.

I'll put up some pictures tomorrow of the clown and firefish. It's good to finally have another fish, it seems wasteful to use the energy for 29 gallons on just one clownfish...

They are jumpers, too. Is your tank covered?

Yes! My tank is one of those Nano Cube type things with the complete hood, it's quite convenient. It's always covered.
