Wink

dweisel, just go offshore in San Francisco bay and catch one yourself. Once you've got it caught and secured alongside the boat call the Fish and Game Department and tell them you just landed a Great White Shark and give them your location. They'll show up very fast to help you out.

NEVER, release your domesticated Great White into the wild. As I found out, it ****es them off. When my baby Great White out grew my 180 (started knocking over rocks, corals, and stuff) I decided, being a someone that cares about nature, to release it back into the wild.

Apparently, she was quite attached to me and didn't want to go. Here's a short video of the release of Sophie (my GW) showing why one should ALWAYS upgrade your tank/ equipment to accommodates the GW's needs in your home. I regret ever letting Sophie go....

Bad advice! Alex is just jealous that he still doesn't have a breeding pair. Honestly, catching a shark isn't difficult and you just have to offer yourself as bait. But why go through all the trouble when you can get the shark from one of us? PM me if anyone is interested. The tricky part is shipping. Fortunately, I have discovered a great way to ship Great White. I can't talk about the specific before my patent is approved but basically I am able to shrink the shark to about the size of a chromis. The only catch is after the shrinking, the shark would lose its white coloration; it becomes the Great Black Shark. However, if you follow a simple acclimation technique the coloration will return. Got yourself a 10g tank, fill it with RO/DI and bring the temperature to 30F. Add 20tsp of kalk and wait 24 hours for the kalk to fully dissolve. You will then need to dip the shark in the kalk solution for 10 minutes (longer will kill the shark) and the shark should expand back to its normal size with its traditionally white coloration. I have been shipping sharks this way for years without a single lost. If you order the shark today, I will throw in an acclimation kit as well. This offer is only good for April.

It depends. If both are male, they will fight as males are territorial. If both are females, they might get along fine. If one is male and the other is female, there won't be any fighting. Now your question might be which one will win? Again it depends and largely on what you have been feeding them. My experience shows sharks which are fed with monkey are the most aggressive and would win almost any fight. Anyhow, the tricky part is really how to sex the sharks. Short of gutting the fish and look at its reproductive organ, the only other reliable way is to count the number of teeth. If the shark has an even number of teeth, it's a female. Otherwise, it's a male.

The one I did last year was better. A few people there actually fell for it and we went back and forth. It was hilarious. Nobody wrecked it by spilling the beans like they did this thread. I PM'd them all after and apologized and thanked them for their interest in proper animal husbandry. They could take a joke, so it was all good.
