Cheato in the overflow
I have always wanted to put some cheato in my overflow. Since I have durso pipes and the overflow is a corner flow so it gets plenty of light. I thought that would make use of dead space.... any-thoughts?

I can't really tumble, but neither does the ball in my sump. The main thing is how easy it will be for you to pull out a toss the excess growth. I don't see a problem, but that is just my opinion.

In my 90 i just shut down i had tons of hair and turf algae in mine. I cleaned it out every week. I think that was one of the reasons why that tank was so stable. Im seeding some pieces of eggcrate now to toss into my new tank to do the same thing.
