Fish won't come out
Hey everyone I have a pair for blue throats for just under 2 months and they still will not come out when I'm around which makes feeding impossible
When I walk into the room they dodge into their cave and won't come out for about 30 minutes after I'm gone. It's almost impossible to feed but they will eat nori but getting nothing else Tank in habitants are a yellow tang and 2 small damsels. When I can I hid across the room and no one fights at all. They all swim around and get along, I've watched for 2 hours and not even a charging motion. What can I do, I want them to eat but can't get the, to come out what should I do? |

I'm sorry, I don't really have any advice... it seems like they would get used to you being in front of the tank and start coming out when you are there... obviously, that's not the case.
If they have been in there for 2 months, then they're obviously eating! So that's good... I have a watchman who occasionally hides when I walk in the room. He'll be completely fine with me in the room for a few weeks and then for a day or so he just hides so I can't see him. A few times I've been able to very slowly approach the tank, pausing quite a bit with each step... and was able to make it to the tank and put in food, which he ate. You could possibly try that, approach the tank very slowly and watch the fish to see if they are acting spooked with you standing there. |

I had the same problem with my pinktail trigger what I did was hold a piece of shrimp in the tank 3 times a day for about 10 minutes each time lil over a week after starting he finally came out of hiding and ate it, then went back into the rocks. After a few weeks of doing that he started staying out while I was around.

my fish started to come out more when I added a clownfish, maybe because they saw that fish out and about all the time it calmed them down? I don't really have any advice beyond that though.
