Yellow Tang and Clown best friends?

So my female Clown and the Yellow Tang have decided to become best friends. The Tang will follow her all over the tank as it grazes on the rocks. If he/she strays to far it quickly swims around the tank in search for the Clown. The poor male Clown is all by himself on his rock. Has anyone else experienced this? I think it's really odd but cool to watch.

The clowns have been together for the last 2 months and were the only ones in the tank until last week when I put the Tang in. They never really paired up and the bigger one which I assume is female would always pick on the male. Now that her and the tang are friends she doesn't even acknowledge the male clown.

I had a very similar situation with my clowns after I added my regal tang. The tang has now been in the tank with them for about 40 days and that odd behavior stopped and the clowns now swim together and the tang does her own thing.

I had a 6line wrasse and pgymy angelfish that were best friends. Would swim and scavenge food together. One day, my 6line wrasse got sucked into powerhead and died. The next day, My pgymy angelfish had dropsy then died. Not sure if it was my water parameters but both ammonia and nitrite were 0.

I think fish can interact with each other.

I think so too which is really fun to watch. I never had my freshwater fish interact on this level.
