You seem to have had badluck. I've bought 6 fish from Petco and have never had 1 fish have any type of disease.

You are exactly right, it isn't just this store that keeps the salinity down, it's all of the petcos. I live in washpa, and ours is 1.015. I bought my blue hippo tang from the petco at the waterfront in pittsburgh (because i couldn't pass up the price) and their sg was exactly the same. I actually asked them why it is so low and they said that if they raise it above 1.015 that there is always an ich outbreak. I don't know how true that is but I just thought I would share that with everyone.

The royal gramma is doing ok from the looks of it, I may have been successful. This is actually the second fish i've gotten from this petco, I only have 1 other clarkii clown so far and he seems to be doing just fine. I actually did ask the employees both times what the sg was and they had no idea. The first time they had to call a manager, and her response was that it was somewhere in the red when looking at a hydrometer.

Unbelievable aren't they? Worthless when it comes to information, good when it comes to prices.....sometimes.
