I ordered my dry rock from marco rocks and they were great. I didn't order any sand from them because I had read that is very fine and easily causes dust storms. Not sure if that is true though.

I use CaribSea Special Grade and like it a lot. Nice variation of small grain size and no dust storms.

The marco rocks are great. Sand on the other hand, not so much. I had to remove all of marcos sand and replace with Sea Floor special grade. Not fun.

I like carib sea figi pink or there is another Samoa Pink from World Wide Imports. "0" grade seems to grow no algae on the actual particle but the smaller grade will be tougher to clean if that's what you intend. I would say if you plan to let your sand be, then go size "0" if not then what you suggested or Special Blend would be more for those who like to vacuum the sand bed often. However, the larger particles seem to darken (algae) over time, which I don't like.

sorry forgot to include it will be a DSB in a 75gal minimum of 6" not sure of exact poundage gimmie a sec to use the calculator.

calculator says I need 270lbs. So, I'm trying to avoid using all live sand to save some cash
