Help leaking bulkhead!!!!

Just doing leaktest. And ofncourse i installed the overflow wrong.

I have it like this

Nut, Back glass, internak overflow box, gasket, bulkhead

Should it be this:

Nut, back glass, gasket, overflow, bulkhead

Please help, and I only have 1 gasket per bulkhead. Should I lube them or anything?

gasket belongs on the wet side i have never lubed mine i always put on dry so it would be.....from the overflow side

bulkhead gasket glass nut

if you have something else between the bulkhead and glass on the wet side then you will have problems trying to stop that from leaking. I dont think the bulkheads were designed to be used that way. Altho another gasket between whatever it is you have would most likely fix the problem

I'm no expert, but it seems like the second way is right. If you put the gasket inside the overflow then there's nothing to stop it leaking between the overflow and the glass, but the second way who cares if the overflow leaks into the tank.

My overflow box (Gl***holes.com) came with two gaskets:

bulkhead - gasket - glass - gasket - overflow box - nut

This is working great for me. Can you get your hands on another gasket?

FWIW - I read in another thread that you always keep your gasket next to the flange on the bulkhead. Doesn't matter if it's inside/outside/wetside/dryside - always keep the gasket next to the bulkhead flange.

Edit: here's the thread http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1994170

+1 on gasket being on wet side. Also I used teflon tape for the threads as well as bought an extra gasket for the dry side (Im just paranoid lol).

If installed right you should not need any teflon tape or silicone. The gasket goes on the wetside. Make sure the glass is super clean and wet the gasket before putting the bulkhead in. After taking my tank down my bulkheads that wear installed were like super suction cups when trying to get them off.
