ecoxotic stnners vs t5 actinics
okay thinking of replacing two t5 ati aquablues + for 4 stunner strips blues. maybe using the t5 slots for ati purple plus......setup would be 4 t5 2 aquaspecial, two purple plus, 4 stunner strips blue, on a 48" tank....might be too white,,,,any thoughts

I run stunners as my dawn/dusk (3 blue/2 UV) on my 180 and am considering adding a few more because they really aren't that bright. They do a great job of bringing out the flourescence in corals. But you can see just a hint of color shift if I turn the stunners on in conjunction with the MH (3x250).
Moral: If you're planning to use these as actinic supplements to your regular lighting, you may be disappointed. If you are just going to use them as dawn/dusk you should be pretty pleased. Hope that helps. |

+1 you will be very disappointed! A stunner strip cannot replace a T5 bulb, now a ReefBrite strip will replace a T5 bulb look into that option for sure!
