75g Inwall Update
Well i got my sump completed and my buddy did the plumbing for me the other day. I just got done setting up my RO unit and I am currently flushing it. My goal is to have the tank filled up by Friday night, gonna try hard to make it happen. After building my sump i remeasured the skimmer section and it is a tight 10", I was originally going to order the Bubble Magus Nac7 for sump but it will be to tight of a fit. So I ended up ordering the Reef Octopus Extreme XS 160 in hopes that it will be a good replacement of the Bubble Magus. Livestock I plan on adding to tank is as follows.
CUC-undecided what to get yet Pair of Ocellaris Clownfish Green Clown Goby Yellow Tang 3-4 Banggai Cardinalfish-Tank Raised Green Mandarin Dragonet (When Tank is established) Red Fromia Starfish Pistol Shrimp/Yellow Watchman Goby (pair) Scarlet Cleaner Shrimp Fire Shrimp Hawaiian Feather Duster Mixed Corals/Mushrooms/Zoa's Any concerns or questions on livestock feel free to add your 2cents. Few pics of sump build and RO/DI system Thanks http://s1019.photobucket.com/albums/...0Sump%20Build/ |

Yes, the skimmer is a good choice. I believe the cardinals can only be kept in pairs, more than that and you'll run into aggression issues. The tank is also a little small for a yellow tang.

RO water coming along well I flushed the unit last night for about an hr and this morning i started filling my Brute can with RO water. Getting 55-60 preasure reading on my gauge TDS is 16 in and 0 out.

The pressure is not that important, your waste to pure ratio is what you need to verify. Should be 4 to 1 on most units.
I take a gallon jug and fill it four times with tap water, pouring them into a 5 gallon bucket - mark the 4 gallon point on the bucket. Then put the empty 1 gallon jug into another 5 gallon bucket with the pure water going into it, put the waste line in the bucket with the four gallon mark and adjust the flow restrictor until you get the 4 to 1 ratio. This is assuming you have an adjustable flow restrictor like my unit has. It takes some tinkering but you will go through a lot less DI resin and extend the life of your membrane/s this way. Hope this helps.

Do you have an adjustable flow restrictor?
Chrome thumb screw on your waste line.

If the flow restrictor is inline it may be a moot point because you probably cannot adjust it. The ratio will be what it will be.
If you do check it, I would be curious to know what you get.
