help with returns

I just picked up a 115g from a local reefer and it was still running at his place and everthing was fine. Well I brought it home, set it up and now my return is only flowing out of one of the two returns, everything seems to be hooked up right, does anyone have any suggestions?

Pics? Need to know more about the plumbing setup, Pump, ect....

I will don't really have any way of posting pictures at the moment but it is a mag12 pump plumbed and reduced to 1/2" pvc, with a T after about a foot to break off into both returns (each about 3' from each other)

with that size pump you should be pushing out of both the returns. Possibly, if one return side is significantly shorter than the other the water may be just finding the fastest route out and not getting eneough pressure to the other return?

Is the mag reduced to 1/2 right at the pump exit?

No, it actually Ts off to a 1" gate valve and the 1/2' return. The gate valve is regulated very low for the refugium, I think I will replumb the return and put in some valves after the 1/2" T
