Placing A Tank In A Tight Spot?

Right now I have my wife's parents living in the lower level of our house. There's talk of them moving out soon so I may finally be able to get a larger tank. I have an awkward spot that would be a perfect location to place a tank. My only concern is that it would be a tight fit. Here's a shot.

I was thinking about putting the tank in the area from the fridge to the microwave. It's actually a perfect fit for a 300 gallon tank. I was also planning on cutting a hole in the wall where that mirror is so that you can see through the tank from the side too.

Anything I should consider?

Your wifes space.
Not to be rude, but you loose a cabinet a drawer and counter space.
While we men don't care your wife will when the kitchen becomes smaller.
The tank will be at least 24" wide
Personally I would not want my tank that close to all the things going on in a kitchen.
You asked!

I'm from Massapequa long island, I know how small the kitchens are. There is no way a 300 gallon tank is fitting there. I assume you meant 30 gallons? The kitchens are so small here I wouldn't want to lose that space to a fish tank in all honesty.

why don't you put it where the dresser is? looks like a more appropriate spot for a tank.

Opps.

That is a second kitchen that would be removed. Sorry if I didn't explain that well. We have a nice new kitchen upstairs. All the cabinets, the fridge, etc are going out. The tank is a perfect fit from wall to wall and is a perfect fit from front to back.

Thanks guys. So I shouldn't be worried if I can only access one side? My setup would be VERY similar to the one posted directly above this post.

Indymann99, how is the water getting to your sump? Overflow? Drilled side? Drilled bottom?

Internal overflow (drilled bottom inside overflow) for drain and return plumbing. Running a Herbie design and loving it for 3yrs now.
