I would eat a lobster that has been in my tank. Heck, most of our tanks are better cared for than the ocean they came from to begin with.

That being said, I wouldn't put a lobster from a store or the ocean in my tank without a qt ritual. Way too many bad parasites can hitchhike on crustacaens.

I bring things home from our bait tanks to put in my aquarium. Green Wrasse, shrimp for clean up or feeding, freshwater Missouri minnows for grouper treats, but my process for doing that is anal.

I would never, ever eat anything out of my tank...
Not because the water might be dirty, but because i've become attached to these animals and find it wrong to even think about it.

The only fish i would eat is tuna and salmon straight from the ocean.

The only way i can actually enjoy fish is not catching them myself and being responsible for their death, it just doesnt feel nice to see them alive and happy before and then non-moving and cut up on a plate.
Now whenever i think about it, i jst think that if i don't buy it, it'll go to waste.

Don't think I could, even if it was something I'd normally eat. Kind of like eating a pet dog or cat. In some places they may find eating a dog or a cat, and I could not really fault them, but I cannot imagine they would eat their pet.

I actually bought a pound and a half of live sidestriped shrimp and 6 spot prawns for my tank the other day. Some of them didn't look like they were going to make it in the tank, so instead of letting them die and get sucked into the overflow and have to pick them out of the filter tray, I just pulled em out and fried em up.

They were mmmmm mmmm tasty

I think most people are attached to their tropical tank inhabitants because they have never seen them in any other setting besides a fish tank. That and the price tag. If you paid less than a dollar a piece for the shrimp in your tank I bet you wouldn't think twice about pulling one out and throwing it on the BBQ this summer.

I wouldn't eat anything out of my tank due to being attached to the animals that I have cared for.

It would really depend on how long I would keep the lobster in the tank and if I put it in my tank thinking of consumption in the first place. Although in some societies, eating your loved one is a way to make they become part of you...so why not eat your pets..and the rest of the family too
