evolution led light questions.
As a long time user of metal halide and fl bulbs I a reluctant to switch to any new lighting. I have 2 tanks and want to switch my office tank to led. It seems that the evolution fixtures are very reasonable compered to other leds. The only light I have seen is a acan fixture.
So questions regarding evolution. Will it be dependable? Will it have that same crazy blue glow that I do like? Will a 200 watt fixture be too strong to replace a fixture with one 250 metal halide with 2 compact fl bulbs, 30 inch fixture. Tank is mostly lps with some acros on top and some softies? What is the difference between the 1 and 3 g? Should I bite the bullet and purchase a more expensive fixture? Any and all help is greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance. Ed

Man, I've be digging into to eveything that has to do with LED's lately. I have to say, AI's are really top of the line! I was thinking about getting the exotic panorama's, and then pacific sun, but the AI SOL's are where it's at for me. That is unless somebody can convience me otherwise. Lol..

at $500 for 75 watts it seems very pricy.

i may be wrong, but the watts compared to t5's or halides is lower but still the same or stronger. not sure how all that goes yet.
sure are a lot of people that have the old school proven lights that are switching and very happy they did. not to mention AI's are some of the hottest leds on the market and as far as technology goes, they're among the top. plus...as you put it, when lighting evolves, you can easily modify ur AI's to keep up. or change to newer and better leds. change different colors..etc.. good luck.. |
