Lighting for 30gal breeder - coral tank
Hey all,
Im setting up a 30 gallon breeder tank. 36x18x12" high. I want pretty bluish light that can support acropora in the middle and have less light in the corners/ends for mushrooms and stuff. I have a 250W Lumenbright reflector with an icecap ballast and a brand new radium bulb. I also have a 2x24" Icecap T5 retrofit kit. If you were me, would you run the halide by itself or would you add the T5's? If I was gonna add, say, 2x ATI blue plus, what halide bulb would look good with that? I could always sell the radium and get something else. thanks. |

I would look into a 4 bulb T5 unit, and run 3 ATI blue plus bulbs and 1 aqua blue special. With a tank only 12 inches deep, T5s should be plenty of light, and this combo gives off an awesome blue color.
