I put 0-2 hours a week. My 210 has been really maintenance friendly! It takes me about 30 minutes to do a 25 gallon water change every saturday and just the small things during the week!

Is there any ill effects on the tank using this stuff?

Under an hour for sure, but I get stuck just looking at the tank all the time. Water changes can be done with everything running so they go fast also. For cleaning the glass (outer) RO/DI water and a squeegee works great and its fast.

I did the same thing until i figured out how to fully automate my water changes. Now my system changes 7gal a week if im home or at the bar. I love it.

An algae free scraper mount on my mag-float keep my glass spotless with one quick swipe.

With a good automatic feeder, an aquacontroller jr, ATO, calcium reactor, and nielson reactor. my tank is almost completely mantance free.

Wipe the glass, clean the skimmer, feed some nori to the tangs. Thats about it
