Thanks EC! He/she is rather adventurous for a mandy. It will come out when I have my hands in the tank and curiously inspect my hands.

Thank you! It is slowly getting there. I need to do a better FTS and stitch it together so that it shows all the things that are not visible in a normal pic. The pride of the tank is how the zoa and few other things are really spreading.

.
That is really cool! You haven't checked to see if you have a boy or girl? If the first ray of the dorsal fin is longer than the rest, you have a "he". If it's the same size as the rest, you have a "she".

I think it was ID'd as a she a while back, but I just keep referring to everyone in the tank as it, they or he/she

I just hope it doesn't cause any insecurity issues. I can't afford therapy for them right now

Because I let my website expire and the pictures died with it. Sorry, maybe I'll discuss why at a later time. In the meantime, the tank is doing well and I'm happy to have the tank take a backseat in my life while I steer the car for a while

Glad to "see" you Hop.

And glad that you are steering the car for a while, and to quote Son Volt;

May the wind take your troubles away"

Thanks Todd! Sad to say that a hands-off approach to my tank has done more than worrying about it and constantly making sure everything was perfect. My corals are going nuts, the fish are fat and I'm doing about one quarter of the work. I actually enjoy the tank again and combined with a few less other responsibilities, my family life is waaaaaayyyy better!

There were some other personal issues that came up as well, but this forum isn't the place for them:cheers:

Hope everyone is doing well!!!!!

Just wanted to stop by since I don't think I've posted in RC since February... Still have the tank and I'm still alive; just too busy to frequent the site as much anymore. Hope everyone is doing well!!!

Well after spending the past few weeks away (and several months away from the tank really) I had some time this weekend to get some much needed work done. Decided to get parts ordered to give the tank some maintenance and otherwise just did a good water change, did some scraping, pulled some weeds and topped off the fluids...

FTS:

FTS part II:

And just a ric...

I'm hoping that in the next few weeks I can start getting some camera time in and really update the tank. I also have some plans on upgrades here in the near future, but I should be getting back into the tank and quit letting it run on autopilot soon!

Hop: Awesome tank, awesome build, and I lust after your wet room [I know . . . I need to get out more]. One quick question, earlier in your thread, you had planned to use a humidity sensor w/ an AC III to control your vent fans:

"It is super quiet and will be tied(eventually) to a AC III with a temp and humidity sensor"

Did you ever do this, was it needed or is temp alone adequate? If you did it, what sensor did you use, how is it hardwired, and what programming?

Thanks in advance both for this and the 100 other things I have learned from your thread!

I just can't believe that it has been nearly a year since I updated this thread. Life has just got away from me. At any rate; I had the wife's camera out earlier today and realized it would shoot video, so I just shot a couple seconds of the tank. After playing around I thought I would post a quick proof of life and show the tank still exists. I'm hoping to blow the dust off the camera and start showing some pics again in the near future. The tank needs a little TLC and I'm getting ready to give it some desperately needed maintenance.

I didn't clean the glass, nor have a tripod, so the video is less than crisp and a tad bit shaky...

Thanks SM!!!

Apparently I've spent too much time away from a camera. Talk about trying to relearn how to ride a bike. Oh well; here are a couple pics from yesterday.
