Wow,I was just wondering how the Kent product stacked up against esv, seachem, etc.

so it's good, huh?

I really like it plus it's pretty cheap when you buy the gallon sizes. It keeps my ca levels round 450 and alk around 10-11 dkH consistently.

I've got ESV and love it, but getting ready to switch up to the baking soda and BRS Calcium Chloride. Much cheaper and have heard good things about it.

I use BRS Calcium, Alk and Mag. James, how much cheaper is it to go the Baking Soda route?

Each box of baking soda costs about 60 cents. It takes me roughly a box and a half to mix up a 1 gallon batch of alk.

Seachem Reef Fusion 1&2. I love it and apparently so do my corals.

FWIW, I really do not think it is possible to note differences between two parts (aside from immediate pH effects) unless one is grossly mismade. The differences (again, if properly made) relate only to things that are unlikely to show problems rapidly. Things like the residual ions left after all the calcium and alkalinity added is used up. So in that sense, I suggest folks either use a DIY, or use one from a company that they inherently trust to get these sorts of things right.
