What instrument is used for true po4 reading?
I've used test kits and the Hanna checker both unreliable I found!
What instrument is used to get a exact reading? Is there a lab to send ur water too that will test just po4 for u? Thanks Matt |

I have two good methods, unfortunately the instruments involved are all $500K plus. For the hobby, the Hanna is about as good as it gets. Any other affordable methods would also be colorimetric.
FWIW: In analytical chemistry there is no such thing as knowing the "exact" concentration of anything. You can only know to the level of your measurment technique.

Here's a citation to a similar method if you are interested in researching further. I have a little bit superior mass spec, so I can beat this level of sensitivity by about an order of magnitude on a good day. At home I still use the Hanna.
