is this normal?

I just picked up a set of aro 250 watt electronic ballast and I have 0 experience of ballast. 1 thing I noticed is if I plug them in and run them And then unplug them if i try to plug in my back in The lighT will noT come back on. If I let them set for about 5 In 10 mInutes and then try to turning back on they work just fine.. So my queStion iS thiS normal or are they bad? p s sorry for the text aris I wrote this with my phone using voice text

normal, metal halides need to cool down before they fire up again

+1 it's a safety feature to prevent your bulbs from blowing out. My controller won't let my MH fire back up for 15 whenever my lights would flicker and lose power for half a sec. No need to worry, just don't go plugging and unplugging the thing all day. It's not good for it. Also new bulbs need a good few hours of continue run time for it to burn in and work properly.
