Arrow Lets See Your M.L. Reef Capable LED systems!!

Hi,

I have a 45 gal. tank and i'm upgrading from PCs to LEDs.
I'm looking forward to being able to keep anemones and fan worms!!!
I haven't seen many posts about the MarineLand Reef Capable light systems.
So - if you would be willing to show off your ML RC leds, PLEASE!!! DO SO !!!!!!!

I'll post pics of my tank when I get the light.

Thanks

Here is a display i have at my store. my first impression i got with this fixture is that it concentrates most of the intensity directly below the fixture. Marineland mentions that more than one fixture may be needed to meet a wider tank. I have two 36 inch fixtures ordered that will go on a 65 I will post pics of that when they come in.

So would the reef fixture be ok for 29 gal biocube or should I invest in stronger lighting than this?

hoobaboob thanks for posting that. What would be a ballpark comparison to T5s? How many T5s would be nearest equivilent lighting to the 2x ML units?

The marineland fixtures seem kind of weak to me. They use 1w LEDs while most other fixtures use 3 watt. Should be fine for softies and LPS, but I'd want something more powerful for an SPS dominated tank.

Look further than MarineLand leds at this point, pretty skimpy on output! Try DIY like Rapidled.com or Aqua Illumination modules. There is alot of oppotunity out there I don't think Marineland is even in this race

I have lots of softies and my Marineland reef capable really does a nice job. I guess I have a simple set up, but it works for me.

This is my second attempt at the Marineland Reef Capable... Purchased a single 48" strip last week and had 4 dead white LEDs within 15 minutes. Called my LFS who then called local Marineland rep. They've only had 2 returns with this issue on any size of the Reef Capable kits, so they say...

Opened my new Reef Capable in store today to make sure and all LEDs appear to be working, no flickering followed by instant death like the last one. I'm happy so far. I think I get pretty good coverage with one strip over a 75gal. Lights sit about 4" above water with no glass or diffuser (used to have egg crate between aquarium and VHOs).

As with other LED photos... picture is not a true representation (obviously looking at the "blue" shot) and these pics were taken with my phone too...

So far, happy as a clam...

Here's a quick video (the shimmer effect is much nicer in person)
