Side effect of clean back glass
So after reading many threads on here about cleaning the Coraline off the back glass for a nice clean contrasting look, i decided to go ahead and do it. Even my wife thinks it looks cleaner, and i have to say i like it too. However my Scopas Tang seems to be very upset now, because he spends all his time chasing and challenging his reflection on the back pane, his constant motion is kind of freaking out some of the other fish, except my clowns that i think are curious as to what his fuss is all about. So what are some options? Do i wait for the tang to calm down? DO i let the Coraline grow back in? do i add more rock to the back to hide the reflection? Its a 90gallon that is not over stocked, and prior to the back cleaning the Tang was very well behaved.
Thank you |

Black background (or blue) on the outside of the tank...
Personally, the only drawback to clean glass to me is that it needs to be continuously cleaned. Jeff |

+1, mine is painted black and as far as I can tell there is no refection from it and I have never seen my fish chasing their refection on the back. My tangs sometimes do it on the other sides of the tank though, if the lighting in room is dark and the tank lights are on, but after a minute or so they seem to figure it out and move on.

I have a velcro black background that i take on and off to clean the back glass, sometimes i leave it off sometimes i put it on but whenever i put it on the tangs will always be confused for a little while but they get over it within a few hours and have now gotten very used to me cleaning the back glass and taking the background on and off.

Its black card-stock, and i can see the reflections, but i never see the Tang fighting his reflection on the side where his veggie clip is.
