How much water flow recommended for fowlr?

I have heard you only need 10x water flow but wanted to see what you guys recommend. Is 10x flow a minimum number? I have a 93g cube. I assume this means look for a powerhead around 1000gph?

Looking right now at different koralia power heads. Recs? Thanks

What are you going to put in it? Some fish need a lot more than seahorses. I would shoot for 15 to 25 times for most instances. Keeps waste in the water column and cyano at bay.

You may get a few different opinions on that. Those fish are heavy waste producers, so I would be to the high end of my range (25 times), to keep things stirred up so a skimmer could get them before the nitrogen cycle did. I would also use a 3 or 4 smaller GPH powerheads and try to get some chaotic flow going.

I agree with muttley. The fish certainly don't need the high flow, but the tank will be easier to maintain with something more than just 10x. I also agree that you'll want more than just one big powerhead, a few smaller ones are almost always better.

Agreed, it just will be easier to help the dead spots and waste. If you dont go with a few smaller ones, id just advise to keep up with water changes....
