Anyone running carbon on output of skimmer
As title, I want to run carbon on the output of my Deltec skimmer so in the future where I might add an ozone unit, it's already set up for it.
Problem is, I'm not sure how best to do it as restricting the water output of the skimmer upsets the water level in the skimmer, so I'm thinking it would be much better to setup some kind of trickle system, but as the skimmer has 1000 litre per hour though it, I'm not sure how best to maintain this over carbon. Anyone have anything at all similar? Cheers, Steve |

My personal opinion is that you're better off running ozone into an ozone reactor.
However to answer your question, due to lack of space I used to have my skimmer dump into a pass through container and then ran my carbon in a nylon bag inside the container. The problem is that the nylon gets dirty and doesn't pass water quickly so you must keep cleaning it. I went with reactors and it works much better.
