Cycling time for half-established tank ?
Hi all,
I'm a completely noob so please go easy on me I have a 28g nano tank and it's been in the cycle for 3 weeks. I got all live rocks and 14g of saltwater from a friend's tank (3+ years old). The other 14g of saltwater is from a lfs. I also have 1.5 inch live sand bed (bought from lfs). The question is: is it ready for fish ? I know I need to do some tests but I'm still waiting for it to be shipped from a vendor. Thanks for any suggestion. |

Wait until you get your tests. Just to be sure. The worst thing you could possibly add to your tank is impatience.

I would not rely solely on a time table to make decisions regarding when it's time to add livestock. Get some data from the test kits and be conservative when making additions.
