Lighting question, about halides
I have a 65 breeder, and came across a possible trade for a 36 PC halide combo. There are 2 96 watt PC bulbs, and 2 250 watt halides, is this overkill for a 36 inch wide tank. The person looking to trade it is having problems with heat. I'd like to keep a nem someday, but 500 watts of halide seems it could be a bit much.

IMHO that is overkill for your size tank. A 36" T5 unit would serve you better and cut your electrical bill by 1/3.

Thanks for the info, that's what I was thinking. I'm currently using dual pc lighting, and will probably look to upgrade to t5s. Thanks again. I guess if someone was looking to trade down to my pc lighting there had to be a reason.
