Who uses Hanna Colorimeter & which one

Does anyone here have any experience with the Hanna Colorimeters and which one? I'm doing all the research I can on them and I'm thinking Iodine, Phosphate & Alkalinity ...

Just wondering what the real scoop is on them from this community, and if so, do I need the low end phosphate meter and/or the high end (my chemistry is lacking)

Low end on the phosphate tester, and alk testers are good. Not sure why you would need iodine, I have never dosed it, additions through water changes is generally enough.

...I appreciate the feedback, the iodine meter was lower on the totem pole, but since my eyes can't distinguish those color charts all that well, the Hannas peaked my intrest

...and yeah dosing iodine was all the rage 10yrs ago, now I'm reading conflicting info...esp. that long NPS thread....
..in fact if any of you recall, xenia crashes used to be blamed on iodine, but I'm no longer versed enuff to comment one way or the other, but I can easily go along with the H2O change mantra...I'm not one for unneeded complications

Ouch...off topic a lil, but to anyone with multiple tanks; those "digital thermometers" from Azoo & Coralife do the same thing: I had multiple tanks and got different reading even from tanks next to each other in a unheated room...

Maivortex, is there any calibration you can do? (I glossed over the info on the Hanna site, but didn't see anything..I could be wrong)

anyway, I'm reading ReefGizmo right now

I have the phosphate checker and have run multiple tests several times and have checked it with salifert kits myself and at the lfs and have always came up with the results within the margin of error I would expect from any hobbiest test kit.

I have the Phosphorous ULR checker and the Alk. For the ranges we are interested in the Phosporous (as opposed to Phosphate) is the way to go. My testing has been entirely repeatable and consistent. I found my Elos Alk kit was giving me results that were about 15% low. I always felt the PO4 color charts were a joke so I'm much happier with the Hanna checker.
