Led ecoxotic stunner strips
Okay so heres my delema I have a 29 gallon reef tank with a corallife aqua lunar light it comes with two led lunar moon lights but I have my rocks stacked up kinda high and they are blocking the led lights from hitting the corals down in front so here are my questions
1. Ive been reading around and it seems the ecoxotic stunner lights are the best led strip light out right now? Is that true? 2. Ecoxotic has like 5 different colors what do the differemt colors do do they each have their own effect? 3. what color is going to make my corals pop the most and do I just put the stunner strip in the very front of the light or where do I put it so it will hit everything and not block my t5s Thanks for reading I hope you guys can help me! |

I use a blue stunner strip as an "evening light" on my 36 bowfront - it's really too bright for a moon light. It stays on for a couple hours after my main lights go out and then comes on a couple hours before the main lights in the morning. It works well and makes the corals pop pretty nicely.
I have mine mounted at the back of my main light fixture, I guess it's probably directly above the main line of my live rock formation. It gives a "shadowy" appearance. If I moved it forward I could get fewer shadows on the face of the formation during the evening/early morning hours. Get one and experiment with placement. Edit: I haven't used the purple stunner strip, but have heard they appear dimmer to the eye. Might work better if you're looking for the lunar effect.

i'm using the stunner stirps 453 on a red sea max i have one on each side of my light, for a dawn/ dusk setting, also the shimmer is true led theres not much difference in the coral color with just the two, but when i use one more it makes a big difference, i just need to find a way to mount the other light, i dont have much room in the hood for one more light...

Well, "too bright" might be subjective. I wouldn't want to leave my blue stunners on overnight, but it might work for you. You could also investigate the purple stunners. My light cycle goes:
6am - blue stunners on 8am - main lights on, stunners off 8pm - main lights off, stunners on 10pm - stunners off 10pm 'til 6am - tank is dark.

I use 1 stunner strip on my Red Sea Max250(66gal) and it covers 1/4 of the tank solid and 3/4-all of the tank briefly, every coral pops under it.
Great leds for the price! |

O forgot to mention the color, lol, I use the blue. The UV ones look awsome with corals, but can supposably make your fish go blind.

Have the stunner stay on until like midnight and turn on at 6 or 7AM. That way you can look at the tank with just the all blue on. If you really wany moonlights on all night, get the all blue ecopico led strip from ecoxotic. It will be dim enough over that size of tank.
